The Stepping Stone Farm - Weaubleau, Missouri (Certified Organic)

Stepping Stone Farm signHere in south central Missouri, on the edge of the plains and the Ozarks, just outside of the small town of Weaubleau, you will find us living and working together on our small organic farm. We have the hope of establishing things the way they were meant to be, but not just things like how to care for the sheep and goats and cows and chickens and geese and turkeys and bees or grow good food and pretty flowers in the greenhouse and gardens and orchard, but the really important things in life like how to be in our relationships. When it all comes down to it the most important things are our relationships with each other and with our creator, which is why we choose to live together. Our leader and teacher, Yahshua the Son of God (the Jesus of the Bible), went before us in this, showing us how to love by giving himself completely for our sake so that in following him we could find the way. He is the center of our life together, where each individual is essential to form the whole. We are filled with vision for the life that is forming here, an organic life that fills our need for restored relations, because we need each other. This farm is not an end in itself, but rather a beginning. That is why we call it The Stepping Stone Farm, because we want what we build here to serve as a stepping stone for others and we are always glad when others are interested in participating in the rich life we share, or even just a visit to see.

We are an intentional community of about 25 people, consisting of several families and a number of single people. On our 100+acre farm, we are providing good, healthy food for ourselves and our sister community in Warsaw, Missouri, as well as other “Twelve Tribes Communities.” (For more information about our associated international network of communities , please visit www.twelvetribes.org.) We currently have goats, chickens, turkeys, cows, sheep, a three-acre orchard, a large vegetable garden, pastures, 50+ acres of hay fields, woods, and several ponds.

We are relatively new to this farm (4 years) and we plan to develop and expand, providing countless projects in addition to farming. Our farm is listed with the W.W.O.O.F. (Willing Workers on Organic Farms) program, so "WWOOFers" are always welcome. Workers are invited to sample our wholesome life and work with us to make this farm organically successful. Meals and accommodations (limited housing, one camper hookup, and also primitive camping) are currently available. We ask that there be no smoking, alcohol, drugs, pets, immodesty, or immorality. Volunteers are invited to come “for day or to stay.”
